After the tradespeople leave: Post-renovation cleaning prices (and what you should know first)
Construction dust isn't ordinary dust. Here's what two proper passes actually cost — and why one isn't enough.

On this page
Post-renovation cleaning looks like normal cleaning — but needs different tools and an entirely different logic. Construction dust contains microfibres from gypsum, cement and paint that settle into grouting, vents and on top of light fixtures. If it isn't removed properly, it settles back down the moment you turn on the heat.
Price overview 2026
| Area | Typical time | Price incl. VAT | After deduction |
|---|---|---|---|
| ≤70 m² | 7–8 hours | 3,353–3,832 DKK | ~2,481–2,836 DKK |
| 71–100 m² | 8–10 hours | 3,832–4,790 DKK | ~2,836–3,545 DKK |
| 101–150 m² | 10–13 hours | 4,790–6,227 DKK | ~3,545–4,608 DKK |
| 151+ m² / major renovation | After visit | Individual | — |
Prices are based on 479 DKK/hour incl. VAT with two to three people on the job. Major renovations (extensions, full rebuilds) are priced after a short visit — construction dust isn't evenly distributed, and it's the old insulation up in the ceiling that becomes the expensive surprise.
Why two passes and not one
Companies that promise post-renovation in a single pass always do one of two things: either they take the dust and stop there, or they come with wet cloths and smear the construction dust across every surface. Both look clean on handover day. Neither holds up.
We do it in two rounds. First round is rough: HEPA-filtered vacuuming, dry cloths, removal of plaster and tape. Then we wait — typically a pause where dust settles back down from ceilings and vents. Second round is fine: wet wash, details, polish. Only then are air and surfaces genuinely clean.
HEPA isn't marketing hype
Ordinary vacuums blow the finest construction particles back into the air — it's why your home feels dustier after a ‘normal’ cleaning. HEPA-filtered vacuums capture particles down to 0.3 microns. It's the difference between moving dust around and actually removing it.
Service deduction
Post-renovation cleaning in your private household qualifies for the Danish servicefradrag in 2026. With an 18,300 DKK cap per person and 26% refund, a 100 m² job at ~4,500 DKK can return about 1,170 DKK per person. Requirements: digital payment, CVR on invoice, 18+.
Frequently asked questions
- Can we move in the same day?
- Yes, once the second pass is done. If you have asthma or small children, we can test with a particle counter before you move furniture in.
- Do you remove paint spots?
- Yes, if they're fresh. Dried paint on vinyl or wood floor may need special treatment — we'll be honest if it's too late, so we don't make the damage worse.
- Can you coordinate directly with our contractor?
- Yes. We time it directly with them so we arrive after they're completely finished — not while they're still drilling on the neighbouring floor.
- What about construction dust in ventilation ducts?
- We clean visible grilles and duct entries. For major renovations, deeper duct cleaning may be needed — we refer you to a specialist, so you know what you're paying for.
- How much notice do you need?
- 3–5 working days in quiet periods, up to a week in peak season. We plan around your contractor's deadline, so you don't have to coordinate twice.
