Deep cleaning: Are those 2,400 DKK worth it? An honest breakdown

What do you actually get for a deep cleaning — and when is it overkill?

Deep cleaning — also called hovedrengøring or dybderens — is what you pay for when regular weekly cleaning no longer keeps up. The oven has picked up colour, cabinets haven't been emptied in three years, and the bathroom is starting to show limescale. Here's what it costs, and when it's worth investing.

Price overview 2026

ApartmentTypical timePrice incl. VATAfter deduction
≤70 m²4–5 hours1,916–2,395 DKK~1,418–1,772 DKK
71–100 m²5–7 hours2,395–3,353 DKK~1,772–2,481 DKK
101–130 m²7–9 hours3,353–4,311 DKK~2,481–3,190 DKK
131+ m²After visitIndividual

All prices based on 479 DKK/hour incl. VAT with two people on the job. The low-to-high range reflects condition and how long since the last deep clean. A studio apartment and a family home at 85 m² can be two different jobs.

What's included in a proper deep clean?

  • Oven interior — including trays, racks and behind the glass
  • Fridge and freezer — emptied, wiped, refilled
  • Cabinets inside — not emptied, but the base wiped
  • Bathroom — descaled, grouting scrubbed, tiles and taps
  • Skirting and baseboards — wiped both on top and at floor level
  • Outlets, switches, door handles — where grease collects
  • Corners behind and under furniture — within reason
  • Ventilation grilles — cleaned if accessible

When is deep cleaning worth investing in?

Some moments are obvious. Others are overkill. Here's an honest guide:

  1. Before Christmas or major family visits — once a year when you want everything level
  2. At the start of a weekly agreement — so we start from the same baseline
  3. Seasonal transitions (autumn → winter, spring → summer) if windows have been open for months
  4. After illness in the household — when you need a reset without doing it yourself
  5. Quarterly if you already have weekly cleaning and want oven/cabinets/bathroom deeper than the regular visit allows

When it's NOT worth spending on: before a 45-minute dinner, when a weekly clean is already starting in two days, in a freshly renovated home (you need post-renovation cleaning instead — a different job).

Frequently asked questions

How often should you do a deep clean?
If you have weekly home cleaning: 2–4 times a year. Without weekly cleaning: every other month or monthly, depending on the household.
Is it more expensive than regular cleaning?
Per hour, it's the same — 479 DKK/hour incl. VAT. But more hours go in because there's more to do. The benefit: you know exactly what you're paying for, and can scale scope up or down by agreeing it with us beforehand.
Can I get the service deduction?
Yes. Deep cleaning in private households qualifies — 2026 cap is 18,300 DKK per person/year, SKAT refunds 26%. Requirements: digital payment, CVR on invoice, 18+.
Can it be combined with a move-out?
No — move-out is a different type of job with AB-92 standard and deposit guarantee. We do that as a standalone service, not as an add-on to deep cleaning.
How quickly can you come?
Typically 1–2 weeks. Peak season (spring, before Christmas) can be three. Call or write if urgent — we sometimes have an opening the same week.
